Message from the Headteacher

Dear Parents, Carers and Children,

What a fantastic start to the school year we have had! It is wonderful to see the smiles, kindness and sense of belonging our children bring to school each day, growing together under God’s love and guidance.

Last week was a particularly special moment as our children stood together to cheer on Sir Kev Sinfield during his marathon journey. Their enthusiasm, support and encouragement demonstrated just how community-focused our children are and reminded us that, “With God, all things are possible.”

We celebrated Hello Yellow Day, and it has been brilliant to see our children and staff wearing yellow and coming together to raise awareness of mental health and wellbeing.

Thank you to all our families for your continued support. We look forward to welcoming you to our Seasonal Craft Night on Thursday 22nd October, with lots to enjoy as we come together as a school community.

As we end another busy and joyful fortnight, I hope you all enjoy a peaceful and restful weekend with your loved ones. Thank you for being such an important part of our school family. May God bless you and your families, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back for another wonderful week together.

Kind regards,

Chloe Fletcher
Executive Headteacher

Year 4 Keeping a Steady Beat
Year 4 have been exploring body percussion and using rhythm to create their own 4-bar beats!  We used the words ‘tea’ and ‘coffee’ to help us understand the different note values and keep a steady beat. The children had great fun clapping, tapping and creating their own rhythms!

Hello Yellow!
Reception looked fantastic wearing a little bit of yellow today! We talked about how we feel in our minds and explored different emotions. We learnt that it’s okay to feel lots of different emotions and that talking about how we feel can help us.

Year 4 Cheer on Sir Kevin Sinfield
Year 4 had a fantastic opportunity to cheer on Sir Kevin Sinfield as he passed through Hindley Green as part of his incredible 7 in 7 Challenge. Armed with cheers and instruments, the children made plenty of noise to show their support as he continued his journey towards The Brick. A memorable experience for everyone involved!

Exploring Numbers in Maths
This week, the children explored how larger numbers can be made by combining smaller numbers. Through practical activities, they developed their understanding of number composition and how different amounts can be put together to make a total.
