At St. John's Church of England Primary School, Hindley Green, our sense of belonging in school, Church and the community enables all to flourish. We believe that each child is unique. Through our nurturing approach and high expectations in learning, academic progress can be made, developing the whole child to be their very best. Our core values (love, responsibility, resilience, hope, motivation, creativity and community) enable us to believe that “With God, all things are possible.” Mark 10 :27
We show care, kindness and compassion so every child feels safe, valued and supported.
Children learn to take ownership of their actions, choices and learning with integrity.
Being respectful means valuing others, listening carefully, and treating everyone with fairness.
Being kind means helping others, using gentle words, and making sure everyone feels included and cared for.

Reception Learning Highlights Our Reception children have been busy exploring Troll Stinks! and have loved diving into the story together. They created thoughtful messages for the troll, using their ideas and kindness to solve problems in the story In phonics, the children focused on identifying the 'ar' sound, spotting it in their own names and familiar words To link with our story, the children designed and made boats to help cross the bridge . They then investigated floating and sinking, testing their creations and sharing what they discovered through hands-on exploration What a fantastic week of creativity, phonics, and learning through play well done Reception!
